Shropshire/Montgomery has had this pretty lively Branch running since 1983ish. There are monthly gatherings, in summer to visit places with exciting strongholds of trees, and in winter to listen to some very knowledgeable, at times distinguished even, visiting speakers, as you can see from the diary. And during the winter months there are regular tree plantings for anyone who is interested (many hands make light work); for the novice instruction is always given. The group is active in fund raising from local businesses to continue planting at their "Corporate Woodland" site near Telford and the group supports one overseas planting venture in Honduras. Information about all of this appears in the monthly members' newsletter and contributions to that are always welcome. For anyone with a little more time, the committee meets usually once a month and is pleased to see new members with new ideas. Check out www.itfshropshire.co.uk
