Acting Globally .....
Over 80 years ago, the International Tree Foundation was founded by Richard St Barbe Baker, a visionary and practical tree planter, who travelled the world with the aim of persuading governments of the absolute necessity to maintain tree cover. He may well have been a 'man before his time' but the International Tree Foundation continues his work - we are a UK registered charity and do not receive government funding - our projects are supported by individuals like you who want to help protect the environment and improve living conditions in some of the most fragile environments around the world.
As a small charity we believe in making our funds - your donations - work hard. We prefer to support small projects at ground level so that the local communities can benefit directly by planting the trees that they need to meet their local requirements. Our aim is to make the projects self-sufficient so that we can then move on to other areas that need help.
For information on some of the projects we have recently supported, follow the country links below.
Bangladesh, Belarus, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Haiti, India, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Philippines, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Zambia.
If you would like to support our work you can do so by becoming a member or making a donation.
